Two methods lesson the madness

The issue: attempting to redeem our 20% completion bonus at Dillard’s with a brand new employee who hardly knows English and an antiquated computer/register system.

Lindsey’s solution: she made a friend. She danced to the music, let the employee show her how to use the newest Kuerig coffee maker (don’t drink the Gloria Jean’s Butter Toffee), and chatted her up about moving to Austin and learning her way around Dillard’s.

Brian’s solution: he ended up taking over the register. Literally. And it wasn’t forcefully– she just handed it over.

The result: a painful hour and a half later, we had everything we wanted at 20% off and no one died. Not sure which method was more effective, but the mission was accomplished.
